For paternity testing situations where the results may be used for court, a collection method known as the "chain of custody" must be followed. The chain of custody refers to the documentation of who has handled your sample every step of the process. Blood or cheek cell samples must be taken from the tested parties by a neutral, third party. Photographs and thumbprints are taken, as well as photocopies of identification. Documentation is very important so as to ensure the proper individuals are tested.

Genetic Discovery will coordinate this "chain of custody" for you. We will schedule you at a facility in your community, sometimes even same day appointments are available. At the appointment, we will ensure that all the necessary paperwork is completed for you. Your results will be ready 5 business days after we receive the samples, provided your balance is paid in full. When the testing is complete, we will mail or overnight your results to you.
